Kaisei Sushi

Drove 30 minutes from Mono to get here because all the sushi in Mono is closed in Tuesdays. Thought we’d give it a shot & I’m really happy we found this spot on google! It was our first time here, never even heard of this town, and I was really pleased with my experience. I was kindle greeted by the serve and sushi chef with a smile. Luckily we got there at 3:30pm, so we made it in time for lunch special. I got Lunch C, and my boyfriend got the Tofu Teriyaki lunch. I thought my dish only came with 1 roll, sushi, miso soup, and salad, but it came with dumplings as well, a very nice surprise! And my boyfriend was originally gonna order the tofu teriyaki dish, but the server suggested he get the tofu teriyaki LUNCH SPECIAL instead, which came with MORE FOOD (veggie rolls, dumplings) AND it was cheaper — GREAT suggestion. Everything cost around 40$, 50$ after tip & we were SOOOO full! Had to get a take out box. I usually eat AYCE, but the quality is usually not as good as an A La Carte Sushi place such as this. You spend WAY less money & my belly was still MORE THAN FULL. Im really picky on the quality of sushi rice and the freshness of fish. The rice was PERFECTLY seasoned & not too sticky. The fish was SOOOO fresh, didn’t smell at all. On top of the great meals that we ordered and the kind service (our server checked on us the perfect amount) — WE ALSO GOT A FULL ROLL (8 pieces) of a spicy salmon roll COMPLIMENTS OF THE CHEF!!! That’s right— ABSOLUTELY FREE! We don’t know what we did to deserve this, but it made our experience EVEN better! We were so pleased with everything. ON TOP OF THAT, the music was a little loud, we asked the server to turn it down, and she had no problem doing so. I would definitely make the half hour drive again to eat here! Thanks for everything! Plus, the restaurant was decorated with cute drawings made by past customers! Loved it — super warming and friendly.

We went to Kaisei for dinner this evening and it was delicious! Truly a gem in Tottenham, we've been to many sushi places before and the size of the sushi rolls and freshness is unmatched! I am going to be recommending this please too all of our friends and family. We also had the sweetest server Tierney (I hope thats the correct spelling) he was so helpful with the menu and made sure we were taken care of during our meal. Thank you!

We had a great lunch out and the sushi rolls were amazing!! Got the spicy salmon, spicy California and green dragon roll and would definitely get again. The Udon noodles were soupy and not dry but tasted good. Gyoza was also great!! Cute little spot!
